Description:

We are currently looking to recruit an Engineer to support continued growth within our consultancy department with a focus on drawing approval and data management in a consultant capacity to our customers.

If successful you will be working within a team of application engineers and PDM Specialists where you will be providing technical support, training and drawing approval within our customer base being a Business Consultant in PDM.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be working with our Customers to assist with the approval process of their designs and drawings with a focus on data integrity and manufacturability, whilst ensuring the maximum levels of Customer satisfaction.
  • You will provide our Customers the highest quality support within the scope provided by the client with regards to the CAD Approval and checking and reporting on the modelling and drawing techniques used by the CAD users.
  • You will actively contribute to the creation and delivery of content and the management of content creation of the customers’ CAD and drawing standards to ensure effective and efficient drawing and modeling practices.
  • You will assist with user training and assistance during implementation and day to day operation of Product Data Management solutions and customization of established systems in order to ensure that the users work within the provided standards.
  • You may also be asked to provide training, online, at our premises or on site.
  • Training the customers on the use and administration of SOLIDWORKS PDM products.
  • Any additional duties / tasks as required by your manager.

Position Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification

  • Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • CSWP/CSWE (Not mandatory but beneficial).
  • Managed a drawing office and its draughtsman.
  • ECSA Professional Registration or Candidate registration (Not mandatory but beneficial).

Knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge of CAD, preferably SOLIDWORKS.
  • Experience in SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional / PDM Enterprise.
  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 – 5 Years engineering experience.
  • Simulation experience (Not mandatory but beneficial).
  • Basic- PC Hardware Concepts, Technology, and Installation.
  • Basic - PC Troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and drawing approvals.
  • Strong knowledge in best modelling techniques and attention to detail while enforcing the high standards for the client.
  • Experience drawing in SOLIDWORKS.

If successful you will be working within a team of PDM Specialists where you will be providing pre- and post-sales consultancy services to support successful SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional implementations, training, and technical support within our customer base.

Initially a Post-Sales role you may also get involved in pre-sales discovery sessions, software demonstrations and ultimately specifying the solutions that you will deliver and support.

Description:

Direct support and maintenance of SigmaNEST/MRP suite of development, test and live databases including those that are used internally within SigmaNEST/MRP and those that are for client use.

The role has exposure to all aspects of database administration such as installation/upgrade/patching, backup and recovery, performance and tuning, security, data loads and database copies. It also includes the running of data fix scripts, daily checks (e.g., database backups), automating tasks, maintaining data feeds and investigating problems.

Responsibilities:

Database Infrastructure & Security

  • Communication – Clear and timely communications (verbal and written) to colleagues and internal customers
  • Assist with the creation, deployment and maintenance of databases in both development and live service environments
  • Service Delivery – Assist colleagues in achieving agreed service standards by maintaining database services to the required operational levels
  • Standards and Working Practices – Ensure that team processes and standards are adhered to accurately to ensure that the expected levels of service quality and performance are maintained

Dimensions and Limits of Authority

  • Perform regular database maintenance activities by following internal processes (data loads, data fixes, schema updates, database copies, software installs/upgrades/patches etc)
  • Plan own time so that delivery targets are met
  • Maintain procedural documentation

Database Infrastructure

  • Assist with the creation, monitoring and maintenance of live and development databases

  • Ensure that all activity is performed in compliance with the audit standards (e.g., SAS 70, PCI DSS)

Position Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification

  • Relevant IT Degree qualification (preferred) or equivalent

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven, demonstrable interest in relational databases such as Oracle or My*SQL (e.g. relevant project undertaken at university/college, website creation etc)
  • Proven, demonstrable knowledge of SQL
  • Proven, demonstrable interest in technology (servers, storage systems, networks, “No SQL” databases etc)
